An Open-Source Trading Card Game
What is Blorbo Wars?
Blorbo Wars is a trading card game that was inspired by Artist Trading Cards (ATC) and a con culture practice Tabby observed during a convention she visited. Artist trading cards are usually originals and can be swapped with other artists' creations, one original for one original. At Warsaw Fantasy Fair vendors made cards with their original characters (OCs) and swapped those tiny printed cards among each other. Tabby was hooked, but when she sat down and started drafting cards, she asked herself if it wouldn't be cool to make those cards playable. So she sat down and asked her friends to help her come up with simple game rules for these tradable cards with their goal of making the card system an open-source system.Taking the rules and templates to create your own OC cards is highly encouraged! Let's turn our beloved OCs into collectible, tradable fighting cards and tell each other a little more about them in the process.

How to Play
The game is meant for two players. Each player chooses a card and puts it on the desk in front of them so the card faces are visible. Each card has a dice roll indicator in the top right corner and a text box with its special ability on the bottom of the card. The dice roll indicater represents the number and types of dice to be rolled each round. The red icon on top stands for "passion," the blue in the middle for "charisma," and the yellow one on the bottom for "stamina."The shape of the dice represents the type of dice that should be rolled: D4, D6, D8, or D12.The dice type varies based on the qualities of the character card. Each player rolls the type and number of dice for each attribute. Then the points rolled for each attribute will be added up. Some cards have special abilities that can change the outcome of one attribute's dice roll. When everything is summed up, the players compare the sum. The highest number wins the round. A player needs to win two out of the three rounds to win the game.
Card Creation Guidelines
THE FOLLOWING GUIDLINES AREN'T FINALISIED YET AND ARE SUBJECTED TO CHANGE!Each ability can utilize zero to three dice. All dice for a single ability have to be equal (e.g. you can‘t mix D12 and d8 for the same ability). Each type of dice can only be used once. The combined amount of eyes must not exceed 46 (e.g. 2x D8 Passion, 1x D6 Stamina and 2x D12 Charisma equals 46). Your character‘s stats can have less than 46 eyes/points in total though. If you create your own trait, keep in mind that the free buff might not exceed 2 points without a penalty. Bonus points with a moment of chance (dice throw) must not exceed an average of 2.5 points without a penalty (anything above one D4).A buff of +3 points requires at least a penalty of -1 point on a different ability. A buff of +4 points requires at least a penalty of -2 on a different ability. Buffs must not exceed +4 points, except rolls of chance.
one D4: free
one D6: At least minus one D4 on a different ability
one D8: At least minus one D6 on a different ability
one D12: At least minus one D8 on a different ability
